Mackinac Island... I have a lot to say about this one. Mackinac Island is truly one of the most magical placed I have ever visited. Alexis, the sweetest bride in the world, grew up going on vacations to Mackinac with her family. She couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else! Robert, her groom, proposed to her here months before, so it was a special location for both of them!

The coolest thing about Mackinac is that there are no cars. Everyone gets around by walking, horse drawn carriages, and bicycles. It truly makes the island so unique. I could see instantly why Alexis loved it so much. We laughed, because it was quite a journey to get there. We took 2 planes, a shuttle, a ferry, and a horse drawn carriage to finally get to our hotel on the island. But it was such a fun adventure!!

We got to Mackinac a few days early, and I had the pleasure of tagging along with Alexis' friends before the wedding. One thing you should know about Alexis is that she attracts joyful and loving people. Every single one of her friends was so warm and welcoming to me, and I truly had the best time with them!

The day of the wedding was an absolutely beautiful day, although it was SUPER windy. At first, the wind was getting on our nerves, but by the end of the day, we embraced the beauty of it. You'll see in the last few photos by the water that those could not have happened without the epic wind.

Robert and Alexis are the sweetest couple. Robert loves her with a sweet and patient love. Alexis absolutely adores Robert. The way they look at each other makes your heart melt. Not only do they have the sweetest love, they know how to have FUN together. I loved watching them at the reception and all weekend having the best time.

This was such a special event, especially because since Alexis lives in Memphis, she doesn't get to see her Michigan family very often. It was so sweet to watch her spend quality time with her family and soak it all in. I think the overall feeling of the weekend is that it all went by way too fast!

Mackinac Island was my first destination wedding that I have ever shot, and my next one will have a lot to live up to. I will definitely be back!!!
