White Point Garden

White Point Garden is one of my favorite spots in Charleston for family photography. One thing I love about it is that it is a great location for pretty much any time of day. This session was shot in the morning, and we had plenty of amazing shade which gave us that beautiful, even lighting that I want when I taking family photos! If your kids do better for photos in the morning, this is. great option! It is also gorgeous- the huge Oak trees offer such an amazing backdrop for your photos. I love it there so much!

Hampton Park

Hampton Park is hands down one of my favorite spots for family photography. The Spanish Moss trees are absolutely stunning. There is also a lot of great shade here, so photography sessions earlier in the day are a good option here as well. I love the variety of backdrops that this park provides for family photography.

Folly Beach

Folly Beach is obviously a great spot for family photography. Specifically, I love the Morris Island Lighthouse area. There is so much to work with there. The dunes, the rocks, the driftwood- so many amazing things available to create some gorgeous family photos. I always love a family photoshoot on the beach, it is never a bad idea!

Downtown Charleston

Downtown Charleston is just next level gorgeous. There are so many nooks and crannies that are absolutely stunning backdrops for family photography. I love waking around and exploring downtown during family sessions and finding all the hidden gems it has to offer.

Rainbow Row

Speaking of the downtown area- you can't miss out on taking some photos at Rainbow Row in Downtown Charleston. Rainbow Row is on E. Bay Street and is lined with colorful buildings. It is such a fun location for family photography. Pro tip: go during the week to get less crowds!!

The Monroe on Spring Street

If you're looking for a gorgeous place to stay in downtown Charleston that could double as a photoshoot location- you need to book the Monroe. I can't even begin to explain how stunning the design of this place is. This was hands down one of my favorite family photoshoots I have ever done. It would be gorgeous for any type of photos, but I loved doing this family session there.

Isle of Palms

If you're looking for a classic, beautiful beach spot for your family photos- Isle of Palms is that you need. It has beautiful, soft sand and it is in the perfect spot for golden hour sunset photos. It is close to the Wild Dunes Resort- so if you are booking a stay here, your photographer can come to you at Isle of Palms to be super convenient for you and your family!

Your home (or Airbnb)

If you are a Charleston local, don't sleep on family photos at your house! Even if you aren't local- there are so many airbnbs that would be beautiful for family photos. There is nothing like being cozy in the living room with your babies. I always love shooting in home family sessions because I feel like you can truly be "you" as a family. Everyone feels so comfortable which makes the photos so genuine and sweet. In home family sessions are definitely some of my absolutely favorites.
